Microsoft is offering government clients run its Azure cloud service on their own servers locally 

On March 5 2018 at its Government Tech Summit, Microsoft announced Microsoft 365 for US Government Cloud service.

Microsoft said that, it is going to be possible to run its cloud technology on its own server for government clients pairing as a part of concerted effort appealing to local and federal agencies and agencies with needs for on-premise servers.

Amazon is taking lead in public sector with well known client such as CIA. where as Microsoft's Azure business will be making stronger competition.
